American 5 Compressor/Limiter - N·Ai

The American 5 Dynamics, originally released in the 70s, is a fet feedback type compressor. Equally useful as a tracking, mixdown or program compressor/limiter, the A5D utilizes "vintage" dynamics control and an easy to use multi-function control set. It delivers dynamics control behavior unlike VCA feed forward compressors so common today. American 5 Dynamics makes use of the 2510 and 2520 op-amps and manages to sound clean but with character without being weak and harsh.

- NLD: (Non-Linear Drive) controls how much the input signal drives the system into its non-linear region, adding harmonic content.
